Requirements of new project (Car DVR System with Telematics)

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRA829V, DRA829, TDA4VM

Hi TI,

I'm evaluating solutions for a new project and it seems to me that TI has solutions related to it.

New project is an automotive DVR system with 4/6 Cameras input which will have telematics capabilities (4G Modem), can send video data to cloud & send location data through Sat nav system (GNSS), have Bluetooth capabilities, portable have battery installed for emergency situations. It will be DVR with 4 camera interfaces (AHD 2.0) and will be modular and used in Cars, Trucks, Ambulances, Personal & commercial use. Light weight for bikes.

Volume is 20-30K annualy.

I’m looking for complete system solution which will be future proof.

  1. Microcontroller/SOC
  2. Automotive Grade ICs
  3. Portable and modular as used in Cars, Trucks, Bikes
  4. Automotive (commercial and personal)
  5. Telematics

Detailed Requirements of new project (Car DVR System):

----------------------------------------------------------------------

  1. 4/6 Channel Camera – AHD 2.0 1080;@30FPS
  2. Video Encoder will have HDMI interface for debugging purpose can switch between 4 video streams.
  3. Linux OS

Storage

  1. Storage option SD Card, SSD or NVme. (Video storage time is finalized but you can suggest with memory type) DDR4 capability is desired.
  2. 2x CAN FD Channel
  3. Bluetooth Capability
  4. Accelerometer (3-axis)
  5. Gyroscope

Portability

  1. Portable, Battery (BMS)
  2. Have Storage options, SD Card, SSD & NAND
  3. Automotive Ethernet

Telematics Capabilities:

  1. 4G modem to send data to cloud
  2. Satellite navigation (GNSS)
  3. Temp Sensor
  4. Speaker

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Key Point: Main point from technical perspective, I would like to use Microcontroller/SOC which will have good speed capabilities and have no issues with working with 4 streams of FHD 1080p/60FPS Video data and thermally stable, have software solutions available to use.
