MSP432E401Y: Ethernet MAC: Wake on LAN

Part Number: MSP432E401Y

Hi,

I saw this question and answer that WAKE-ON-LAN is not supported in this device:

https://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/msp-low-power-microcontrollers-group/msp430/f/msp-low-power-microcontroller-forum/902219/msp432e401y-ethernet-mac-does-it-support-wake-on-lan

However, in the datasheet it's mentioned several times (see below)

Can you please advice what exactly is supported?

Thanks

(15.3.11) Power Management Module
The power management (PMT) module supports the reception of network remote wake-up frames and
AMD Magic Packet frames

(15.3.11.3) Magic Packet Detection

(15.3.11.4) Power Management Interrupts
The PMT interrupt signal can be asserted when a valid remote wake-up frame or magic packet is
received.

  • Hello,

sorry for the confusion. Remote wakeup via ethernet is supported via the device and with SimpleLink SDK. See API. The EMAC may not be available in all power modes so care must be taken in setting your power modes with this feature.

We do not have any code examples showcasing this feature that I am aware of, and will not be able to support creating one at this time.
