TM4C1294NCPDT: Possibility of using "TM4C129ENCPDT" instead of "TM4C1294NCPDT"

Part Number: TM4C1294NCPDT
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TM4C129ENCPDT
Hello
We use "TM4C1294NCPDTI3R" as MCU in our projects.
The distributor have offered us the "TM4C129ENCPDTI3R" IC.
We saw that the series of these two ICs are different and there are extra AES, DES, SHA/MD5 data protection modules in the 2nd recommended product.
Our MCU           : TM4C1294NCPDTI3R
Proposed MCU :  TM4C129ENCPDTI3R
The design and layout of the cards are ready, but we have not placed the MCU. I wonder if there is a problem in placing the proposed 2nd MCU instead of the our 1st MCU?
What other differences are there?
  • Hello Musa,

These devices are pin and software compatible when you are upgrading from TM4C1294NCPDTI3R up to TM4C129ENCPDTI3R. There would be no issue with replacing a TM4C1294NCPDTI3R with the TM4C129ENCPDTI3R variant instead.

The lone difference is the hardware encryption peripherals that are provided with the TM4C129ENCPDT.

    Best Regards,

    Ralph Jacobi

  • Thank you Ralph :)
