AM2434: Changing core of existing project

Hi Justin,

First of all a CCS project built for R5_0_0 may not work for R5_0_1 and vice versa, because the resources (interrupt, memory region, IPC shared memory etc.) used for each R5 core are different. You can look into the IPC examples for details.

Hi Justin,

It is possible, if your code is only using the TCM or on-chip memory without using any peripherals. For example ,the R5_0_0 code can run on R5_0_1, if only a for-loop with some math functions called.

Hi Justin,

You can either change it in the Launching Debug Session (from R5F_0_0 to R5F_0_1) or launch the target configuration from  "Target Configurations", then connect to R5F_0_1 core, then load the R5F_0_0 code

1. import and build the hello_world CCS project

2. Right click on hello_world project --> Debug As --> Code Composer Debug Session

3. uncheck all except R5_0_1, click OK

4. R5_0_0 code loaded to R5_0_1, run the code.

5. "Hello World!" printed on CCS consol

How do you change it for an already built project? See my attached procedure above for reference, this was the difficulty I encountered

Oh my gosh - thank you Chester!! This works now, and is very reliable & clean.

Procedure:

• (pre) have built & debugged on Core 0_0, debug session is terminated

1. Delete .launches/ directory
2. Clean project
3. Build project
4. Debug target and select Core 0_1 when prompted

And it works! So simple and clean, thank you Ming & Chester for your patience and help :)
