AM2432: Is Ethernet/IP supporting standard TCP/IP as well?

Hi Expert,

In our project, we need Ethernet/IP for industrial protocol communication and also need a general TCP/IP socket interface for firmware upgrade and other management purposes.

When Ethernet/IP is enabled, can the application use the standard TCP/IP socket? If not, do we have to enable both stacks, Lwip(Enet) and Ethernet/IP? and can both stacks use 2 RJ45 ports simultaneously as a switch mode?

I would appreciate it if you share your experience and knowledge on this.

Hi Moonil,

The answer is yes. Both Ethernet/IP and TCP/IP stacks can run simultaneously on AM243x.

Could you answer this question as well? This question was about "can the application use TCP/IP socket included in Ethernet/IP stack?" We want to use only one copy of the stack if possible due to the lack of available memory size.

Here is the answer from our software team:

It is not supported today in the TI integrated example but Kunbus is planning to do this in April, so shall be part of our May release.
