TMS570LC4357: Pin Mux. Is it possible to leave a pin without a function?

Hi experts,

The datamanual list the Pins with their default and alternative functions.

For example Pin J2 is GIO6 by default and can be set nERROR.  However when configuring the Pins in HalCogen the software allows the user to not set a function for Pin J2.

(Q1) Does this mean that it is possible to not assign a function to pin and what would be the output of such a pin?

    HI Max,

    If multiple bits or no bit are selected in the Output Multiplex Control, the Default Function will then be selected. In your case, J2 is used for GIO6 output.

    The function in third col of Table 4-28 in device datasheet (SPNS195C) is the default functions of terminals.
