[FAQ] AM2634: TI ARM CLANG compiler - Safety qualification/certification

Hi,

The AM263x SDKs (both MCU+ SDK, MCAL) uses TI ARM CLANG compiler. As AM263x can be used in safety applications, safety qualification of tools is key requirement.

With this, has TI CLANG gone through any external certification standards? Can you please provide information on how customers can go to safety certification at their end?

Hi,

Please note TI doesn't do safety certification of compilers but we instead provide the TI Compiler Qualification Kit.

The TI Compiler Qualification Kit (QKIT) assists functional safety system designers in qualifying their use of the TI C/C++ Compilers per recommendations in the relevant functional safety standards. The TI Compiler Qualification Kit has been assessed by TÜV Nord to comply with IEC 61508, ISO 26262, and EN 50657.
