TMS570LC4357: External watchdog circuit reset

Hi Team,

Good day! We would like to know if it is correct to connect the External watchdog circuit reset to the warm reset, nRST, of the TMS570LC4357.

Customer design is a voltage monitor at nPRRST and an external watchdog at nRST. Please let us know if it is correct or it is better putting the watch dog reset at nPRRST.

Hi Jonathan,

You can connect watchdog reset to either nPORRST or nRST. I don't have recommendation.

A question: by your opinion it is the same connecting the reset to nPORRST or nRST, but what is the difference of intervention of these two resets ?

nPORRST: Power-On Reset, or Cold Reset. nPORRST initializes the entire processor, including CP14 debug logic and the APB debug logic.

nRST: System Reset, or Warn Reset. nRST initializes the majority of the processor logic except debug logics.
