LP-AM243: UART Echo Example Frozen?

I am testing the UART Echo example and I have hooked up the TX to the RX pin from the diagram below. I also tried to measure every UART pin on my oscilloscope and found that they send nothing. The code currently just says "Echo example started..." and does nothing from there. Any specific pin connections I need to do? I tried to specifically tie pin 5 to pin 4 on J17 as labeled by the board.

Hi Dylan,

The UART Echo example works for me on LP-AM243x R5_0_0 using MCU+ SDK 08_02_00_31.

J17 is connected to MCU UART0, but the UART Echo example uses MAIN UART0. You don't need to connect Tx to Rx for the echo.

Simply connect a Terminal to the XDS110 Class Application/User User (COMxx) which shows up in Win 10 Device Manager. In CCS, a Terminal is available via View->Terminal. Once the terminal is open and the program is executing on the LP, type in 8 characters into the terminal.
