UNIFLASH: Is there a way to install Uniflash without all the TI Cloud Agent BS?

Part Number: UNIFLASH

Hello,

I routinely need to set up computers with Uniflash that will live in a factory, and won't have internet access for various reasons. This was never a problem before but on Uniflash 7 it prompts me to install a bunch of junk like the TI Cloud Agent Bride Browser Extension and TI Cloud Agent Application. How do I bypass this but still have Detect My Device work?

I am able to get it to work by creating a new configuration, selecting the device etc. but this is a pain and liable to go wrong for an inexperienced operator. How do I disable the TI Cloud BS and just get Uniflash to work as elegantly as before?

This is an example of feature creep: taking a perfectly good product and adding features until it becomes a PITA.

Thanks,

Derek

  • Derek,

Are you using the desktop version of UniFlash? If so, you should not need internet access to use it, and no additional downloads are needed. No changes have been made to UniFlash v7 in this regard.

As for the prompts you are seeing, are you referring to the "More Info" section of "Detect My Device", where it is referring to "TI Cloud Agent Bride Browser Extension" and "TI Cloud Agent Application"? That instruction is for the cloud version of UniFlash only, and we have updated this text to clarify this point for the next UniFlash release.

As for device detection not working for you, can you let me know which device you are using?

    Thanks,

    Ricky

  • Hello,

I'm using version 7.1.0. I didn't see an option in downloads for cloud version vs. not cloud version.

In settings I did the "Re-sync database" just in case something was incorrect. That fixed it; Uniflash now auto-detects correctly.

    Thanks
