TMS570LC4357: CCS CPU Reset - System Reset - Restart behaviour

Hi all,

When debugging my software in CCS and doing a CPU or System reset, everything works fine but when using restart button the software goes in data abort with DFSR of 0x1008 (Synchronous External Abort) and the DFAR pointing to the GIO driver location.

Can anyone explain why this behaviour occurs ?

Hi Joe,

If you use TI launchpad (LAUNCHXL2_570LC43), the CCS System Reset will assert nRST signal to reset the device except for the debug logics. on Launchpad, the JTAG SRST is connected to nRST of TMS570 device.

If you use TI HDK, the CCS System Reset will assert nPORRST signal to reset the whole device. On HDK, the JTAGSRST of JTAG debugger is connected to nPORRST of TMS570 device.
