AM2432: VMON_VSYS Circuit Design

Part Number: AM2432

Hi Team,

I received the question below from my customer.

  1. According to 6.4 Pin Connectivity Requirements of AM243x datasheet, it says, "If VMON_VSYS is not used, this ball must be connected directly to VSS". But Figure 7-3. Power-Up Sequencing says VMON_SYS must be turned up before Power-up sequence. Is circuit design for VMON_SYS necessary?

Best regards,

Mari Tsunoda

  • Hi Mari,

The Power-Up Sequencing diagrams show all of the power rails / signals, so you know how they should all be sequenced.  If you are not using one in a manner that is approved by the datasheet (i.e. not using VMON_VSYS and connecting it to ground instead as instructed), you can ignore that signal in the Power-Up Sequencing diagram.

So to directly answer the question: "Is circuit design for VMON_SYS necessary?", the answer is not if the customer does not intend to use it.

    Thanks,
    Mike

  • Thanks Mike! Marked as resolved.
