TMS570LC4357: MEM5A: Test of the Timeout Check necessary?

Part Number: TMS570LC4357

Hi Experts,

The Diagnostic MEM5A listed in the Safty Manual suggests testing the SCM for basic functionality and insert diagnostig errors. The Safety Manual does not state what should be tested specificaly.
When looking at the SafeTi Library, I noticed, that the it is not up to date/complete.

I would guess the following test are supposed to be done according to MEM5A

  1. Read of reserved location  -> Data Abort
  2. Test of Parity Compare logic as descripted in section 3.3.1 of the Technical reference -> ESM 1.53
  3. Self Test of SCM as described in section 3.3.2 of the Technical reference ->CPU Reset

(Q1) Are these all the tests that are included in MEM5A?

(Q2) Self Test of SCM is not the same test as MEM8A / Interconnect Self Test described in scetion 4.3.4 of the Technical Reference, correct?

(Q3) There is no Test of the Timeout Check described in section 3.3.3 of the Technical Reference, correct?

Thank you and best regards,
Max

I think one of them is ok

3.3.2 How to Initiate Self-test Sequence

    and

    4.3.4 Interconnect Self-test

    They are the same test.

(Q3) There is no Test of the Timeout Check described in section 3.3.3 of the Technical Reference, correct?

    Yes, you are correct.
