Hi Team,

My customer has a question as below.

Could you recommend Watch Dog Timer devices which can expand timeout value on CPU boot(until first WDT clear) ?
We're going to use discrete WDT IC instead of WDT function implemented in CPU.
If boot from SPI completes in about 400ms, we can use WDT function of TPS38600 device(we've already used it in our other products). but I think it takes more than 400ms.

Hey Mari,

I would recommend the customer still try to take advantage of the on-chip WWDT IP if they can, they can configure the ESM interrupts so that cores can be notified without necessarily triggering a reset.

If an external WDT is a requirement, I would recommend the "TPS3431 - Standard programmable watchdog timer with enable"
