TMDSEMU110-U: Conflicting information on XDS110 SWDCLK pin

Hello TI Forum,

Apologies if this isn't the right forum to ask this question in.

I have a XDS110 debug probe, and I am confused which pin is supposed to output SWDCLK in serial wire debug mode. I read the XDS110 User's guide (SPRUI94), and table 4 lists SWCLK/TCLK on XDS110 pin 11 (which connects to CTI-20 pin 11) and RTCK on pin 9 of the CTI-20 connector.

Next, I read another TI document about JTAG connector pinouts (this one) and that table lists pin 9 as SWDCLK/RTCK, and pin 11 as only TCK.

Can anyone clarify which pin is actually used for the clock in serial wire debug mode?

Hi Marlyn,

I am planning on connecting the XDS110 to a TM4C129 microcontroller. But I'm confused how that helps to answer my original question. Does the XDS110 output SWDCLK on pin 9 or pin 11 depending on which microcontroller it is connected to?

Hi Ki,

The "document" I was referring to there is technically a webpage, located at this URL: https://software-dl.ti.com/ccs/esd/documents/xdsdebugprobes/emu_jtag_connectors.html

I've also posted an image of the table I'm talking about below. On the Compact TI 20-Pin connector, SWDCLK/RTCK is on pin 9, and TCK is on pin 11.

Thank you for the reference. I was able to confirm that the XDS110 User's Guide PDF is accurate and the html document is incorrect. I will have the html document correct. Thank you for pointing out the discrepency and sorry for the confusion
