High speed sampling

I am looking into MCU/ADC/etc solutions that can provide high sampling rates with capable high speed communication ports such as USB 2/3, LAN, etc. My goal is to capture and pass the samples down a communication port for further processing at a later stage. Sampling speeds of at least 40Msps overall (continuous - not in bursts) are good for me. I am primarily targeting an MCU that can do all that but do not mind using dedicated ADCs for streaming digital data down the USB port as long as the overall solution makes and economical sense to me in the end.

Any suggestion on such solutions?

  • C2000 MCUs do not support 40 MSPS. Please look into standalone ADCs using the parametric search on www.ti.com. Such high-speed ADCs typically come with LVDS or parallel interface (not USB). It may be possible to interface such devices to C2000 MCUs using the parallel port. TMS320F28388D has both Ethernet and USB.
