Trace possibilities without ETM

Hi!

We are going to use a TMS570LS10106 PGE and I want to know if we can get trace information from this device? The ETM module is not included in this device.

Hi Jonas,

Yes trace capabilitiesare supported in 144 pin packages due to pin constraint. For development / testing with trace capabilities we recommend to use 337 BGA device which supports ETM and also RTP.

What is the the type/ level of trace capabilities you are planning.?

We ust want to trace x number of instructions, be able to start tracing at an address and stop at another and so on. If there are no trace capabilities with the 144 pin package maybe we have to go for the BGA.

ETM is the best solution for your requirement, switching to 337 BGA is good idea..
