UNIFLASH: When UniFlash reads RM57l843, it always shows "Read Target Device"

Part Number: UNIFLASH
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: RM57L843

Hi team,

Here's an issue from the customer may need your help:

When UniFlash reads RM57l843, it always displays "Read Target Device".(UniFlash version:7.2.0/ debugger: xds100 V2)

a. Did it read flash normally at that time?

b. Did it read the entire memory? (4G or 4M)

c. Is it possible to shorten the reading time?

Could you help check this case? Thanks.

Best Regards,

Cherry

  • Hi Cherry,

UniFlash will only access the target when needed. When you select the Memory option in UniFlash, it will not read target memory by default. You need to press the "Read target Device" button to have UniFlash read and display the contents of target memory. "Read Target Device" is not a message - it is a button.

    a. Did it read flash normally at that time?

It will only read memory when the "Read Target Device" button is pressed.

    b. Did it read the entire memory? (4G or 4M)

No, it just reads a block of memory. The memory that is read is what is displayed in the Memory Browser view. As you scroll to the bottom of read memory, you will see an option to "Load More". this will trigger a read for another block of memory

    c. Is it possible to shorten the reading time?

Part of the issue is that UniFlash will need to reconnect to the target each time it reads target memory. Subsequent reads will be faster as long as the user remains in the Memory view.

    Thanks
