AM2431: Conditoins for using some modes on QSPI Boot

Part Number: AM2431

Hi,

We're received an inquiry about QSPI Boot below from the customer. Could you give us an answer to the following question ?

-----------------------------------------------
The TRM "4.4.1.3.1 QSPI Bootloader Operation" contains information on QSPI support.
Is it correct to assume that there are no conditions other than those listed here? (If only the conditions listed are met, then we can assume that this mode can be used with the devices we have adopted.)
- 1S-1S-4S mode only (Bit-width =1 or 4, Single Data Rate)
- The Command and Address issued are 8 bits and 24 bits respectively.
- The Read Command that is issued for QSPI is 0x6b followed by zero for address and 8 dummy cycles.
- The frequency of operation supported is 50 MHz.
-----------------------------------------------

Regards,
Hideaki

  • Hi Hideaki,

Yes, above QSPI configuration conditions along with schematic/layout conditions should be good for using QSPI boot mode.

Please refer to Datasheet for connecting the QSPI to AM243x.

Also, you can get customer schematic reviewed by TI experts or refer to TI EVM schematic.

    Regards,

    Prasad
