AM2434: Can AM2434 code be configured to run in external Flash?

There is not enough MSRAM space, and I want to place the code in an external Flash to run.

Does AM2434 support it?

step1：Modify linker.cmd and adjust the program location to external Flash.

Debug error message：

Started via SBL bootloader, startup failed：

So my questions are:

Can AM2434 code be configured to run in external Flash?

How does the MPU need to be configured to support external Flash Debug?

Yes, AM243x supports XIP and we have reference example showcasing it.

First of all, thanks for your answer.

Referring to the XIP Benchmark process, the program can be run, but CCS does not support simulation debugging.

I am using AM2434 LP, run the program from external Flash, how to configure CCS emulation debugging?

Hi,

Debugging with CCS is not possible when XIP is enabled as stated in the "Debugging XIP applications" section of XIP user guide (AM243x MCU+ SDK: Enabling XIP or eXecute In Place (ti.com).

Please refer to this section on suggestions on debugging with CCS.

Another alternative is develop and debug the application with all code in "RAM" and then just update the linker command to use "FLASH" and do the final test or debug with application in XIP mode.
