Hi Team,

My customer asked two questions below regarding sysconfig.

About sysconfig, MMCSD setting (see image), I think the pin direction for each pin is uniquely defined by terminals. Why is the Rx checkbox of each pin selectable?
1. "MMC1_CMD" is output signal, but I can check RX checkbox manually.
2. "MMC1_DAT[3:0]" are bi-direction signal, but I can uncheck RX checkbox manually.
3. Rx checkbox of "MMC1_SDCD" is fixed to be checked.
4. "MMC1_CLK" is output signal, but I cannot uncheck the Rx checkbox. because it's gray-outed and fixed to be checked.
About sysconfig, Enet(CPSW) setting (see image below) We are going to use RMII1_* signals and not going to use RMII2_* signal. In this case, is the following correct?
1. Disable Mac port1 checkbox: not checked
2. Disable Mac port2 checkbox: checked
3. (I have this question because I checked "Disable Mac Port2" checkbox, and RMII2_* signals checkbox, but no error occurred.)

Hi Mari,

Regarding your 2nd question:

Yes the configuration is correct.

Also the Disable Mac Port Parameters are used by application to selectively disable either of one mac ports, as for CPSW3G both external mac ports are enabled by default. Pin mux configuration and Disable Mac Port are not coupled together so you do not see any error.

Let me know if you need any info regarding Enet(CPSW) setting

Couple of question I had:

1. Are you using am243 evm/lp or any custom board?

2. If custom board which PHY are you using?

They are using custom board. I will have to check back with them as to which PHY they are using.

Regarding question 1,

The default configuration for pins is the directly coming from device data and not an SDK configuration. In the device data these are marked read only and hence the grayed out check box. My best guess is that the direction and pull up pull down values are related to the pin in general than the muxed functionality. The pad would be shared by multiple pins, like say MMC1_DAT0 would have a GPIO pin, or a UART peripheral also in the same padmux. So as long as there is no hinderence to the functionality of the selected mux (in this case MMC1_DAT0) I would believe the pin direction wouldn't matter much. I will clarify this once again and get back to you by Monday.
But I can confirm that the configuration provided by default in the SDK is tested to work for MMC1.

If the grayed out checkbox is by default of device data, I am still confused by the MMC1_CLK signal being fixed for Rx regardless of being an output signal. Could you elaborate on this for me?

Hi Mari,

As I mentioned in response, my best guess is that the direction matters mostly when a pad is used as a GPIO. The pin for MMC1_CLK being fixed as Rx might be a bug in deviceData. But one could try editing the syscfg file for MMCSD driver to make it selectable and try with Tx direction. I am also unaware why it should be grayed out if it's a don't care. It would be better if someone from HW Apps / SoC data team comments on this. Meanwhile I can try some experiments on this and get back to you.

I had a discussion with HW Apps and this needs to be fixed. We will look into the fix, thanks for pointing out. We will take this fix both in MCU+ SDK as well as deviceData.

Regarding MMCSD configurations, what should they do about the fixed checkbox for the time being? Is it ok to leave it as is?

Also, can I just check the configuration for MMCSD for the settings they mentioned (not related to the fixed check boxes)?

I don't think this will be a fix for MCU+ SDK. It might be fixed in the next Sysconfig release.

Thanks. Do you happen to know when the next sysconfig release will be? Also, is there a workaround for the fixed checkbox? Will they have to manually change the code for the .sysconfig file?
