TMS570LS3137: DCAN RX FIFO errata

Dear TI team,

there is a DCAN RX FIFO issue (DCAN#27) when using polling mode reported by us in 2015. You released a draft errata in that post.

I wonder why this errata does not show up in your Silicon Rev. C and Rev D erratas.

I just see it reported for TMS570LC4x.

please see the latest errata always placed in the product folder: https://www.ti.com/product/TMS570LS3137

There you find a separate errata for silicon revision C and D. If an errata is no longer mentiond then it was just on earlier silicon.

Dear Bernd, thanks for your quick feedback.

I had checked the erratas but they don't list DCAN#27. It seems that they newer got updated with this still persistent issue.

I knew the DCAN FIFO issue, but I don't see it in Errata ( TMS570LS3x silicon RevA/B/C/D).

Hi Stefan,

I didn't see DCAN#27 on LS31x errata, but I see it on TMS570LC43x RevB errata (SPNZ232B).

Both TMS570LS31x and TMS570LC43x use the same DCAN IP, so I think the LS31x has the same DCAN FIFO issue. I am not sure why the LS31x Errata was not updated.

this is exactly my question and observation.

Why is a 5 years known DCAN issue not part of the LS31x errata. Can you take care within TI to release a new updated errata?

Hi Stefan,

Do you have any test case for producing the FIFO issue? I need to verify that this bug exists on LS3x too, and make sure the workaround does work on LS31x. After confirmed, I will submit a ticket for updating LS31x device errata.

unfortunately I'm not able to recall the test case we had. I'm sure. as the errata for TMS570LC43x already exists there is somewhere a linked testcase at your end.

Hi Stefan,

The FIFO issue is also found on TMS570LS31x platforms. The errata DCAN#27 on LC43x errata is also applied to LS31x devices. We will update the LS31x errata.
