How to lower the power consumption of TMS470?

Hi guys,

I use TMS470 to fetch data by using SCI and HET timer and then do a complicate algorithm, at the end send the data out via SCI. I only use SCI and HET functions but the power consumption is too big. Is there any other hidden function i can switch off to save some energy? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Which TMS470 target micro are you using?

You may power off the other peripherals and also by making sure that other pins than HET and SCI pins are not driven you can lower the power consumption.

Hi Pratip,

I'm using TMS470R1B1M with SYSCLK 48MHz. The current consumption at the moment is about 0.15A. Is this normal? I will check whether other pins are not driven or not.

Hi Rui,

Does your board support to measure the current consumed by the Micro alone ?

Or is it that , this also includes some other circuit .

The Micro alone should take few milli Amps. Refer the data sheet for the characterization data .
