MSP432E401Y: Connecting to an Ethernet server from an Ethernet client

Part Number: MSP432E401Y

Hi,

I have a controller board with an lwip based application that resides at remote solar powered sites and communicates as a client with a central office over an Ethernet modem. In order to save energy the Ethernet modem is powered down most of the time. It is powered up a few times a day by the controller board on a preset schedule.

The problem is that whenever the modem is powered up it doesn't sync up with the controller board so the Ethernet communication fails. If the controller board is reset after the Ethernet modem is powered up it works ok, but I don't want to reset the board because it is performing other tasks that I don't want to disturb.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do in order to sync the Ethernet connection from the controller board client (without resetting it) after the Ethernet modem is powered up?

Thank you.
