Hello,

we are using TM4C1294NCPDTI in one of our enodeB (LTE & 5G) design.

We would like to know the procedure to be followed for OTA software update.

Means The enodeB will be mounted on the pole outdoor.

whenever the software update is required to be done for TiVa what are the steps to be followed. This info is required urgently as we are completing our design

Hi,

We don't have any examples as such from TivaWare library. TM4C129 does not natively have Wireless or Bluetooth capabilities. I suppose you have some add-on wireless or bluetooth adapters. What we have the Ethernet bootloader that can perform firmware update over Ethernet interface but non OTA. You can find Ethernet bootloader from C:\ti\TivaWare_C_Series-2.2.0.295\examples\boards\ek-tm4c1294xl\boot_emac_flash (this is a bootloader). The example firmware that is to be loaded/updated to the MCU is in C:\ti\TivaWare_C_Series-2.2.0.295\examples\boards\ek-tm4c1294xl\boot_demo_emac_flash (this is an application firmware).

below is our observation..

Initially I tried to load through UART0(because at present our hardware is not supporting eathernet).

Tried to use the sample application C:\ti\TivaWare_C_Series-2.2.0.295\examples\boards\ek-tm4c1294xl\boot_serial.

Through Tera term how to load the new application image??

Can you please let me the loading procedure.

i) which file I have to load?? (Is it *.bin or *.out??)
ii) How to load? (thorugh X modem or Y modem or Z modem)

Kindly let us know if you have some pointers to check.

No, your understanding is not correct. boot_serial is a bootloader. This is the file that must reside on the flash at 0x0. You can program this file via the JTAG like any program such as blinky or hello example.

The application example you want to load is the boot_demo1.bin at C:\ti\TivaWare_C_Series-2.2.0.295\examples\boards\ek-tm4c1294xl\boot_demo1\ccs\Debug\boot_demo1.bin

The tool on the PC side that you want to use to send the file is LM Flash Programmer.
