AM2431: When will the SDK support this part?

I can currently create an example project for the AM2434, but not for the 2431. When will I be able to create an example project for the 2431?

Or, is it possible to create a project targeting the 2434 that also works on the 2431?

Hi Corey Olson,

The SDK supports AM243x which constitutes all the parts in this. So, yes you will be able to work with the project even if it builds for AM2434.

Can you be a little more explicit please? Exactly how do I create a project for the AM2431? These are the options that I see in the new project wizard:

AM2434_ALV
AM2434_ALX
AM243x_GP_EVM
AM243x_LAUNCHPAD

Which of those should I select in order to create a project for the 2431? Note that I need to create a project for that part on our own custom board, NOT on the launchpad.

Hi Corey,

You need to choose between AM2434_ALV and AM2434_ALX. It depends on the chip type. If you have the same chip-type as that of launchpad then you need to choose AM2434_ALX or else the other option.

Our project is using the ALV variant. So are you stating that I can create a project targeting the AM2434_ALV and it will "just work" on the AM2431_ALV? Will the binary that I generate using CCS work when I try to program it on the AM2431? Any special settings required in CCS to make sure it knows that I will only be running on 1 core (since the 2431 only has 1 core) ?

Hi Corey,

Just create a single core project for AM2434_ALV and it will create a *.appimage format for single core and your RBL and SBL will work the same way.

Hi Corey,

You can try Hello World Example which is delivered by MCU_PLUS_SDK. This is by default a single core application.
