AM2732: Sleep mode

Part Number: AM2732

Hi,

There is a description of sleep mode in TRM spruiu0a.pdf.

I didn't understand how to set to enter sleep mode and how to return from sleep mode even if I looked at TRM, so please let me know.

It would be helpful if you could provide some sample code.

Best Regards,

Hiroyuki Taguchi

  • Hello Hiroyuki,

Can you share the page number and reference of "sleep mode" you are referring to in the spruiu0a.pdf for additional context?

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Zackary,

    Thank you for yor reply.

I refer to the following passages in TRM.

What I want to do is implement Low Power Mode for the entire AM2732 device.

    spruiu0a.pdf

    page.2510, 10.1.1.4.2.2 Device-Level Power Down

    page.4199, 10.5.1.2.5 Low Power Modes

    Best Regards,

    Hiroyuki

  • Hey Hiroyuki,

    page.2510, 10.1.1.4.2.2 Device-Level Power Down

    - The Power-down (low-power) mode referenced here is specifically regarding operation of the GIO module within the SoC.

    page.4199, 10.5.1.2.5 Low Power Modes

    - The Power Operating Modes described here (Run, Doze, Snooze, and Sleep) are not applicable to the AM273x device.

These sections need some cleanup to prevent any further confusion, the SITARAAPPS-2904 ticket has been filed for tracking this update.

Regardless of these details, the AM273x device can still be manually configured to mimic a "Low Power Mode" with a variety of strategies. The techniques include:

    • Static programming of the device’s digital cores, peripherals and analog circuits in appropriate high-performance and low-power states.
    • Dynamic transitions between component power states.
    • Switching off the bias current, or power supply.
    • Switching off clock inputs of a component, or significantly reducing the clock frequency.

These techniques should be implemented in User Application-level code and are enabled by API's for SoC Specific functions.
