TM4C123GH6PM: TM4C123 Flashing Problem at High Temperature

Part Number: TM4C123GH6PM

Hi,

I can't download code to microcontroller at high temperature (70° - 80°). I use "Silicon LABS Ember Debug Adapter ISA3" debugger to flash. Debugger's temperature was always at room-temperature (22° - 28°). I use keil to flash. When the system gets cold, I able to flash. Why I can't flash at high temperature?

Thank you for your time.

Best regards.

  • Hi,

I'm not familiar with this 3rd party "Silicon LABS Ember Debug Adapter ISA3". As a matter of fact, your debug probe is not listed as a supported debug probe for TM4C MCU. I suppose there are various components on your custom board. You don't really know which component is having at high temp or even the debug probe is having problem at high temp. This is what I will suggest you try.

      - Do you have another debug probe of the same to try?

      - Do you have a debug probe such as XDS110 or XDS200 from TI that you can try?

      - Can you use your current debug probe to debug/program another board at high temp? Will you see the same problem?

      - Do you have known good TM4C123 chip that has been tested to work at high temp? You can do a ABA swap test - swap this known good chip to your problem board. Can you repeat the same issue?
