AM2634: bootloader: Magic number check fails

Hi Baljeet,

Are you following the documentation mentioned here - https://software-dl.ti.com/mcu-plus-sdk/esd/AM263X/08_04_00_17/exports/docs/api_guide_am263x/GETTING_STARTED_FLASH.html ?

This will help you flash any example like Hello World with an additional bootloader like sbl_qspi example which you are intending.

I have tried the Hello World example and it works fine. The issue comes when I use multi-core application image.

It was all working fine some time back but stopped working after I did a small project to write on QSPI flash.

Is there something I have deleted from QSPI flash?

Hi Baljeet Bhatti,

Even if you have deleted something from the QSPI Flash. You need to re-flash the sbl_qspi with your application(hello_world or any multicore application) on the same. Although it seems like you are not using system projects to create the multicore image. Can you point to the steps you have used to create multicore image ?

I am converting individual core images to rprc images and then combining the individual rprc core images using the multicoreImageGen tool to convert them into one app image.

Returning to the original question, how is the magic number embedded into the app image? Can you point me to the documentation?

As you have mentioned before that the QSPI boot does not work after you flashed something. Can you please confirm if the single core image (like hello world) is still functional.

For single core image, the RPRC image and the multicore image (with single core enablement) is present.

For multiple applications, you need to merge the RPRC images to create one single multicore image.

The multi-core example project works fine.

Yes, I followed the exact steps you shared, but it still gives the issue.

In our project multicore app image, the magic number RPRC appears on odd address offsets, whereas in the multicore example the magic number appears on even address offsets.

Can you point me to the documentation of the multicore image format?
