Microcontroller with Functional Safety selection

TMS570 microcontrollers are good candidates for functional safety applications. The safety architecture includes dual CPUs in lockstep, CPU and memory BIST logic, ECC on
both the flash and the data SRAM, parity on peripheral memories, and loopback capability on peripheral I/Os. 

The device development process and TMS570LSx product family are assessed and certified suitable for use in IEC 61508 SIL3 and ISO 26262 ASILD application. The functional safety manual can be found on ti.com. The FMEDA and safety analysis are in NDA control.

The device provide DCAN modules which supports CAN protocol 2.0A/B.

Thank you for your reply, could you please let me which tools such as IDES I can use for developing code for functional safety with a certified compiler and ideally FMEDA report.

Apologies for late response. You can use TI CCS and TI ARM compilers. TI compiler is not certified, but TI provides a compiler qualification kit to assist customer in qualifying their use of TI ARM compiler  to functional safety standards such as IEC 61508 and ISO 26262.
