[PROCESSOR-SDK-J721E]TDA4 SDK 8.4 TSN SWITCH EST

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM625, TDA4VM

Hi,

I'm testing SDK8.4 TSN feature for TDA4 EVM. I followed the instruction in AM625-SK acting as a switch and implementing EST schedule.

I took TDA4 EVM cpsw9g linux native driver as switch to replace AM625-SK in the instructions. But I got error as attachment.

TDA4_EST_SWITCH_ERR.log

I also tried J7VCL as switch, it goes well.

Please help to clarify it, thanks!

And one more question, I followed this post to enable cpsw linux native driver in SDK8.4. Do I need to remove ethfw symbolic link in  /lib/firmware/j7200-main-r5f0_0-fw?

Regards,

Josh

  • Hi Josh,

Sorry for the delay in response.

And one more question, I followed this post to enable cpsw linux native driver in SDK8.4. Do I need to remove ethfw symbolic link in  /lib/firmware/j7200-main-r5f0_0-fw?

No that would not be required as we do this from the overlay.

Can you clarify the following things :

    • Which CPSW9G port are you using for this test? is it RGMII or SGMII(QSGMII)?
    • Does this error comes every time or is it imtermittent.
    • Does this come after a fixed-time or is it random?

    Regards,
    Tanmay

  • Hi Tanmay,

    Sorry for the late response.

    • Which CPSW9G port are you using for this test? is it RGMII or SGMII(QSGMII)?
      • We are using eth1 in TDA4V EVM with the "J7X QUAD PORT ETH EXP" board
    • Does this error comes every time or is it imtermittent.
      • The error occurred every time in this test.
    • Does this come after a fixed-time or is it random?
      • It occurred during the plget transmission process to the receiver.

    Here is my testing environment:

    J7VCL(cpsw5g eth1) <----------> (cpsw9g eth1) TDA4 EVM (cpsw9g eth2) <----------> (cpsw5g eth2) J7200 Custom Board

And my test script attach as following:

    script.zip

    Thanks,

    Josh

  • Hi Josh,

The line "devlink dev param set platform/8000000.ethernet name switch_mode value true cmode runtime" in TDA4_EVM.sh is for AM625.

For TDA4VM, change this to "devlink dev param set platform/c000000.ethernet name switch_mode value true cmode runtime"

Can you try this and let me know if this helps.

    Regards,
    Tanmay

  • Hi Tanmay,

I modified the TDA4_EVM.sh as you mentioned.

Now, the issue stop happening in TDA4(switch), but occurred in J7VCL(sender).

And it still happened every time after "plget" command finished.

Please check the log of J7VCL(sender).
