  The example demonstrates a simple webserver. If it works, then it means Ethernet interface is working correctly. See the LaunchPad user's guide which has the schematic that shows the connection between the MCU and RJ45. If you are asking how to check the RJ45 on the Ethernet switch then I don't know what to suggest. Ethernet switch is normally a networking hardware that connects devices on a computer network. I don't know who is the manufacturer for your network switch. You can ask them if there is any diagnostic tool to check the well being of their product.

I'm talking about the Ethernet Transceiver IC by Microchip KSZ8765, which needs to be configured through microcontroller and further connected to RJ-45 and Fiber ports.
