AM2634: PRU-ICSS

Can you please suggest a starting point for using the PRU-ICSS core for Ethernet/Profinet communication on AM2634?
Are there any examples available at the moment?

Hello zli_vuk,

A good starting place would be the Industrial Communications Toolkit within the MCU+ SDK. There is also the Profinet Implementation on TI's Sitara Processors app note.

Thank you for your advice. I looked at the Communication Toolkit within the AM243x MCU+ SDK ...I found an interesting example for Profinet but can't make it run on AM2634...I don't have very much experience with CCS, but reconfiguring a project from AM243x to 263x doesn't seem to be an easy task... Can you please give me some more tips on that?

My apologies, as I linked you to the AM243x MCU+ SDK Industrial Communications Toolkit. Here is the link to the AM263x industrial Communications Toolkit. We plan to have support for Profinet on the PRU-ICSS of the AM263x by April of 2023.

I found AM263x ICT before asking my first question...this doesn't help me a lot..I'm glad you are planning to have support for Profinet on PRU-ICSS by April...but for some reason, I need it before.
What should I pay attention to during the reconfiguration of the project from AM243x to AM2634?

The PROFINET stack in AM243 SDK cannot be used in the AM263 SDK. TI is implementing a new PROFINET stack on AM243 that will also be migrated to AM263 later in 2023. If you are needing a PROFINET solution sooner, one of our third parties TMG https://www.tmgte.de/en/ has PROFINET available for Sitara devices.
