TM4C1294NCPDT: Detected as unknown device

Hello Divyesh,

Can you explain what specifically you are trying to accomplish? I can generally follow what you have done and what you are seeing, but I don't understand the objective so I am not sure what feedback to provide you.

I think most importantly for me, I am trying to understand if you are trying to use USB or an XDS110 to program the device?

The Device Firmware Update feature is the USB boot loader while XDS110 uses JTAG, not USB. So maybe there is a disconnect there?

Hi Ralph,

Actually there is one mistake in above statement.

By mistake our debugger XDS110 IC (TM4C129) got damaged in the board of TMDS243GPEVM. So we replaced the ic but it was not working. So i thought i need to install boot loader and firmware in the TM4C129. So that i tried according to previous thread but its detected as unknown device.

So please help me out.

So effectively you are trying to upload an XDS110 firmware image to a new TM4C129 IC on the TMDS243GPEVM?

The guide you posted I believe is for a standalone XDS110 debug probe, I am not sure if it would apply to your board.

Are you trying to connect to the TM4C device over JTAG or with USB only?

Okay, so what could be the way to make it functional?

Because i am unable to access AM2434 over USB.

Just to confirm - you got the TM4C1294NCPDT with 1MB flash, correct?

Yeah, correct. Then, it was no longer identified as "Stellaris Device Firmware Upgrade"

It could be that something went wrong with the flashing of the bootloader. You can try the "Flashing the bootloader" section which involves connecting pin 97 of the TM4C1294NCPDT to ground:

Otherwise I don't have much more suggestions to try...

But, i am unable to get it done successfully. Is there any other method to erase or unlock the controller?

Because likewise i damaged 3 controller.

Sorry, but I am not aware of any others. Perhaps there is some issue with your HW connections? I will defer to the device experts for more comments.

No, I am not able to observe as XDS110 device.

During booting first time, i have only observed as "Stellaris Device Firmware Upgrade" device.

You originally said that you were using a custom board but followed up saying that you are using the AM243x GPEVM. Can you confirm that you are using the GPEVM  and not a custom board?

It's not custom board. We are using AM243x GPEVM only.
