TMDS243GPEVM: Replacing Rev1.0 MCU with a Rev 2.0 on PROC101B boards

Part Number: TMDS243GPEVM

Hello TI Team,

While waiting for our own board being developed, we plan on replacing the original XAM2434ASFGGAALV part (rev 1.0) with an AM2432BSFFHIALVR on one of our TMDS243GPEVM (PROC101B-002 version) to speed-up firmware development.

1- Do you see any potential issue between the AM2432BSFFHIALVR and the TMDS243GPEVM (PROC101B-002 version)?

2- Is the latest SDK able to support this configuration?

Thanks for your help!

  • Hi Jessie,

You might consider getting a TMDS243EVM, it is the same board (although PROC101C) as the TMDS243GPEVM, but already has Rev 2.0 silicon on the EVM.  This would save significant effort compared to removing and replacing the ALV package BGA device.

If you want to move forwards with the TMDS243GPEVM and swapping out the device, my only concern would be the reliability of the swapped device and ensuring you don't damage or move anything else on the board as part of the swap.

The SDK should already support the Rev 2.0 parts.

    Thanks,
    Mike
