TMS570LS0714: what is the interaction to unlock the AJSM?

Hi experts,

Customer locked the JTAG port by using AJSM feature. But sometimes the boards, with JTAG locked, need to do firmware update in manufacturing line directly (for example, maybe the previous firmware has bug). In manufacturing line, there is no CCS and related xml/dat file supports as descripted in the Application Report of Hercules AJSM Unlock (linkage).

So customer wants to know the exact interaction between JTAG and target device for unlocking the AJSM. Do we have corresponding docs to show the sequence?

Hi WIll,

1. You can use standalone command to unlock the AJSM, but the dat file is needed.

dbgauth -c testBoard.dat -s ajsm -t cortexr4 -k xxxxx(unlock key) -m 1

2. You can use bootloader (DCAN, SPI, UART) to update the firmware. The AJSM doesn't block the CAN/UART/SPI communication.

Hi QJ,

In customer production line, they don't have PC environment so the above cmd instruction and operation can't be implemented. They use programmer from third-party supplier to do this. So I had a meeting with customer and third-party supplier, and recognized that their requirement is how to unlock the AJSM in low level, which means the specific protocol (or the dedicated communication process) in JTAG level to unlock the AJSM.
