TMS570LC4357: CC shows erase, load, then doesnt stop at "main" when in debug mode

using custom board with the TMS5704357 Hercules.

have built 12 boards...all work perfectly.

Using a Blackhawk USB200 jtag emulator

On one of the boards...open code composer, build project, click "debug"...see the chip being erased...see code being loaded...then it doesnt stop at the "main" as usual....

only option is to "terminate.

Appears the jtag is connecting and doing what it is suppose to do...

just looking for possible cause....?....something i can check...

as stated...every other board works.. just this pia one....

see the "nerror" led (ihave connected to herc) go out during the erase and load phase...

if I power board down after doing all the above, it doesnt turn back on and run the code application (even though the CC screen shows it erased and loaded).

tried putting breakpoint in the "main"...that didnt do anythingCC terminates.docx

appreciate any clues/checks.,..

Is error LED ON?

If it is ON, then please check ECC status registers if any bit is set.

A common reason for this to occur is that erased flash is full of ECC errors!

The solution to frequent ECC related errors during development is avoid them by making sure all of the ECC data is programmed - in other words program correct ECC values even for the locations in the main flash array that are left unused.

i ran it again.

paused the project.

its stuck in the esmGroup3Notification function....

I read the datasheet...I see Group3 has 24 channels...most reserved...

I was attempting to see what "event" is causing the issue...(thats the hack code in the esmGroup function....

alos, looking at the esm registers, I dont see the ESMSR3 register listed (i.e. when CC stops and updates the registers ...

any suggestions?.....

again....havent run into this on any of the other boards we have built....all the other custom boards we built around the hercules just worked.....this is the only one giving me issues....leading me to beleive a HW thing.....but alas, it powers up, the jtag connects, etc...

Shall we do one thing,

Can you please share your code, i will test that code on my board. If it worked perfectly means it might be some hardware issue or else if it failed at my end also then we will do further code analysis.

i could do that, but this code runs on every other board no probs...(it is stupid simple code..just toggles a few io's/etc)......

so..has to be something....

and again, when I pause it locks up in that esm3 ntoification loop...

so...suggestions on what to look for ?...(see prior message)...
