TMS570LS1227: nERROR requires external pull-up?

Part Number: TMS570LS1227

Good morning sirs,

We are using the  nERROR signal  TMS570LS1227 connected directly to TPS65381A  ERROR/WDI as indicated in the examples.

But nERROR seams to require an external pull up as it is a low active pin.

Could somebody confirm it?

Thanks for your help

Bernat

  • Hi Bernat,

Even though nError pin is not an open drain, an external pull-up resistor is suggested. It is because, while NPORRST is asserted, the pulls are disabled to the pins, and they will be tri-stated which means this pin may float.

If a pin has an external pull-up resistor, this pin will not be pulled down during nRESET.
