TMS570LC4357: Role of register r9

We are unsure about the usage of the r9 register in TMS570LC4357 (Cortex -R5).

What is its default usage? Is there a way to ensure that r9 is always used as a callee-saved register?

Hello Jagadish,

We are trying to run a stack-analyzer and wcet-analyzer on code compiled with TMS570LC4357. They both assume r9 to be a callee-saved register.

Hi Tim,

R9 is a general purpose register.

Please refer cortex R5 technical reference manual for more information.
