AM2732: How to enable AM2732 MSS_RS232_TX/RX

Hi Experts

In the datasheet of AM2732, we find that MSS_RS232_TX/RX which is the debug UART for MSS.

Could we use it as a user UART?

I tried to add this MSS_RS232_TX/RX instance in syscfg but only MSS_UARTA and MSS_UARTB are supported.

Hey Ken,

Unfortunately the RS232 interface is tightly integrated with JTAG/Debug/Development flow and enables application download from host machine via RS232. It is not available to be used as a general purpose UART. There are 2x UART instances is MSS domain and 2x UART instances in DSS domain, are all 4 of these modules already utilized in your current design?
