Can you please let me know why do ypu want to use dp83826?

I want to clarify that dp82826 is meant for  real-time Industrial Ethernet applications. But you can still use it for normal ethernet application also.

Can you please clarify what you mean by not able to integrate?

If you want to use just mac port one the go syscfg and do the following:

Select mac port config--> Disable Mac port 1 and you should be able to use mac port 2 in this case dp83826.

In the first picture, you shared, as per my understanding the phy DP83826E is connected with ICSS not with CPSW.

In our custom hardware, we are planning to use DP83826E with CPSW, replacing DP83869HMRGZT(U52 in PROC110E2(001)_SCH eval board) with DP83826E.

1. Can we replace DP83869HMRGZT(U52 on eval board) with DP83826E?

2. Is there any way to select phy drivers in Sysconfig->Enet(CPSW)?

Hi Baljeet,

I would like to correct myself, DP83826 is connected to only ICSS not to CPSW. SO you cannot use this phy with CPSW in am263 cc.

In order to use dp83826 you will need to get the phy driver for ENET interface. (This is not part of SDK offering, you will have to confirm from phy team about this). The current phy driver will not work.

Also This phy does not support RGMII mode, you can use RMII Mode with CPSW but not at 1gbps, as this phy supports only 100Mbps max

Can you please let me know why do you intend to use this phy?

It would be great to directly contact the PHY team for confirmation of driver support in the SDK. Could you please arrange this?

Understood that on the TI AM2634 ControlCard this is not possible.

It should be noted that on Sheet 3, RevE2 of PROC110E2(001)_SCH.pdf in sprcak1A, the diagram is incorrect for the PHY connections. In error, it shows the DP83826E connected to PRU0 ICSSM RGMII/MII, CPSW RGMII2/MII2. Funnily enough, this is the way we would like to connect the PHY.

To clarify our design:

1. This is a custom hardware design.
2. 1Gbps is not necessary and is too expensive for this design. 10/100 is all that is needed.
3. RMII will be used
4. PRU0 ICSSM RGMII/MII, CPSW RGMII2/MII2 will be connected to PHY DP83826E. Single RJ45.
5. With external hardware and internal pin multiplexing we will change between CPSW and PRU for different customer software images.
6. DP83826E appeared to be supported in the SDK, which is why it was chosen for ease of development.
7. DP83826E supports PRU (industrial) and CPSW (normal ethernet), making it a good part for us.
