Part Number: AM2732
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR2243
Hi,
My customer is working on 2xAWR2243+AM2732 system. Now they found if they ran ethernet transfer on mss, there will be assert on DSS side. Customer digged into the issue and found that the Etherent will make the CSI overflow (two CSI ports are used). Customer is using DSS to do CSI data capture.
Pls find more info below.
Test condition 1: Ethernet transfer after one frame process on DSS is done. Customer is sure the ethernet transfer time is less than frame period minus process time. CSI and CPSW are not working at same time.
a. There will always be CSI overflow error on dss if customer run ethernet transfer on mss. The issue mostly happens the first frame Ethernet transfer, but also sometimes happens in later a few frames transfer.
b. If increasing the frame period a lot, e.g. 70ms to 400ms, the problem doesn't happen.
Test condition2: DSS data process is disabled. No guarantee that CSI and CPSW are working in different time slot.
a. There will be CSI overflow error often if customer disconnected the network on mss.
b. If only enabling one CSI interface (CSIA or CSIB), the problem doesn't happen.
c. Based on current setting, if reducing the number of sample, the problem will happen after several seconds. But increasing the chirp period with reduced number of sample, the problem happens again quickly.
What may cause the CPSW(Ethernet) make CSI overflow? CPSW uses CPDMA and CSI uses own DMA. Is there any possible to be conflicted? If you have any idea on this issue, pls kindly share with me.
Thanks,
Chris
