TM4C1231H6PM: Generate VID/PID for USB

Part Number: TM4C1231H6PM

I am trying to generate a PID for a new USB device that we are prototyping and when I access to the webpage the TI application note provides it says it is down due to maintainance. I have being trying since Friday.

Is there any other way that I can get a PID assigned for my device?.

After further investigation, it looks like this site will remain disabled for a period of time - can't go into details on the why, but I'm working on what next steps are so we could get a PID assigned for your needs.

I am disappointed to inform you that we will not be able to provide a solution in the near term.

We have discovered that due to the age of the original offering, will need to re-visit the licensing terms and delivery method and do not have an ETA on when those will be resolved.

We will make an announcement post on E2E with new instructions once all of that is resolved, but until that time, all USB VID/PID assignments are being halted.

Hello Ralph,

Thank you for your response. Those are certainly bad news for us since we are betting on the Tiva C family of MCUs for our current and some of our future designs and we rely on USB for communication and updates through USB DFU. Being able to register a PID under Stellaris VID was certainly a key feature for us.

That said, personally I hope TI gets to sort this promptly since we are really satisfied with Tiva MCUs, which otherwise are performant and reliable and we would not want to resort to move to alternative MCUs only for that feature.

We have every intention to offer this once more and have confidence that this suspension of PID assignment will only be temporary. I appreciate your candid feedback on the matter as that will help me highlight how crucial it is we get this resolved in a timely manner.
