AM2634: Comparator(CMPSS) Modul AM263

Part Number: AM2634

Hello

I try to understand the CMPSS Module. In the TRM i saw the following Picture:

Is it correct that, this module has two Outputs and the each Outputs could be assigned to a arbitary GPIO or are there a fix GPIO to assign them?

Or do we have only one output ?

Best regards

  • Hi

Yes CMPSS can be bought out through Output XBARs, PWM XBARs, etc depending on the purpose of use.

The outputs provided by the High comparator and Low comparator are below:

What do you want to use these GPIOs for?

Could you please explain your use-case better?

    Thanks & Regards

  • Hi Sri Vidya

We want to use the output of the comparator module in a FPGA Board.  So the connection from AM263 to FPGA would be via GPIO Pin.

So the question is, could we assign any GPIO Pin directly to the output of the comparator? Are the outputs of the comparator fix or are they configurable?

Do we have separate outputs for H and L, or do we have one outputs for every CMPSS instances?

Here is written, that we can connect CTRIPxOUTx(x= "H" or "L") signals to the Output X-BAR for external signaling and refers me to the GPIO chapter. But I couldn't find any Information regarding this topic.

    Thanks

  • Hi

Yes we can route the CMPSS outputs to output Xbar.

You can assign the required CMPSS outputs in the OUTPUT XBAR setting in syscfg.

Here is the snippet attached for the same:

Trip H and Trip L pins can be connected seperately.

These output XBars are connected to GPIO Pins, you can get their pin out from data sheet. There are total 16 Output XBars.

For the different CMPSS lines, please check the ADC to CMPSS Mapping section in the TRM.

    THanks & Regards
