Hey Sasha,

As Dominic mentioned, the TISCI API is the recommended way to get this information. However, the API is just a secure/controlled read of the CTRLMMR_JTAG_USER_ID register which is defined in the last section of the device TRM Introduction chapter (AM243x Technical Reference Manual (Rev. E) (ti.com)). Including screenshot below for reference.

Thank you both for the quick response. 

However this JTAG_USER_ID will be the same for every SoC as far I as I can tell. Basically every SoC from the same lot will have the same JTAG_USER_ID. I'm looking for something that is unique to each SoC. 

As an example, if I ordered 100 AM243x parts, I was wondering if there was a register that would have a guaranteed unique value (different for each) in each of the 100 SoCs ordered.

I'd be rather unpleasantly surprised if the UID really were just a read of the JTAG_USER_ID, since that information is used to link secure debug unlock certificates with one particular device. For all I know, that ID is unique.

I have confirmed that there are dedicated UID (Unique ID) registers used by the TISCI API. As pointed out, the JTAG_USER_ID is generic to the device type and will not be unique per device. One option would be to use the CTRLMMR_MAC_ID[0:1] register. Each device will have a dedicated unique MAC address programmed to these registers.
