AM2634-Q1: FOTA Support

Part Number: AM2634-Q1

Hi Team-

Are the AM263x-Q1 devices able to support Flash Over The Air? If so, could you point me towards documentation on this topic?

Thanks,

Reed

  • Hi ,

Can you share more details ? What is the ask here around FOTA ? What is your expectations with AM263x to enable the FOTA support ?

Theoretically, FOTA can be done with AM263x. But it depends on what the user's system architecture is to integrate FOTA.

  • Hi Aakash,

The expectation is that for this device to be used in a wireless BMS system it requires the ability do to FOTA. My understanding is FOTA means you need memory space for 2x the image size on the external flash. But I do believe it would require certain features in order to ensure a smooth update even if power were to be lost or the device were to have a reset in the middle of the image uploading.

  • Hi ,

This depends on how you define the architecture of the system.

But I do believe it would require certain features in order to ensure a smooth update even if power were to be lost or the device were to have a reset in the middle of the image uploading.

Although you are right, we do support the backup boot/redundant address boot for SBL which can be used in case there is a power failure. For more details, check out the Chapter 5 Initialization in TRM.

    Hope it helps.
