Dear Champs,
My customer is using MCU+ SDK v8.1.00.36, and wants to reduce SYSFW size.
They found there were lots of nulls in SYSFW binary in sysfw_signed.h(or sysfw.bin) as below and want to check if these nulls can be removed.
Could you please check if these nulls in the sysfw binary can be removed?
They know that this sysfw size was increased in latest MCU+ SDK v8.5, but they can not move to latest version.
Thanks and Best Regards,
SI.
Hi Sung-IL,
This will require the SYSFW to be rebuilt.
The concerned team can analyze the same and get back with some feedback on the same and if found viable, we might be able to target this for future releases. The fix can only be provided for latest version of SDK and SYSFW only.
Best Regards,
Aakash
Aakash,
Do you mean there is nothing to do to reduce SYSFW size by customers?
Do you think they will face a failure when they reduce the load image size of SYSFW not to load nulls on internal RAM?
Thanks and Best Regards,
SI.
Hi Sung-IL,
Do you mean there is nothing to do to reduce SYSFW size by customers?
Yes, I don't think system firmware can be changed without rebuilding.
Do you think they will face a failure when they reduce the load image size of SYSFW not to load nulls on internal RAM?
Yes, they will. Mostly with HS devices.
