Hi,

We are having errors generated by the ems module. The SSR2 registers always displays as 0x8 even after multiple power cycles. I have also tried to reset the error by writing 0x5 to EKR register. That doesn't seem to clear the error either.

All of the status registers (1, 2, 3, 4) appear to be 0.

Questions:

1) What could cause this error?

2) How can the source of this error be determined? Is there a register(s) that could help diagnose the problem?

This flag is set by an uncorrectable flash ECC error. SSR2 can be cleared by Power-On reset, or by writing 1 to this register. ESMSR1/3/4 can be cleared by system reset.

Writing 0x5 to EKR register will pull the nERROR pin to HIGH, but doesn't clear ESMSRx registers.

Hi QJ Wang,

I can see that writing to the bits that you mentioned above clears the flag, but it is only temporarily cleared and the error reappears.

How did you determine this error was an uncorrectable flash ECC error? Can we determine the error by reading a series of registers? We are trying to understand this to help identify the source.
