RM44L520: switching from RM46L852CPGET to RM44L520APGET

Part Number: RM44L520

Hello,

we have already used RM46L852CPGET for a medical application, now we are switching to RM44L520APGET because we are developing an application still related to medical field, but more cost sensitive.

in the previous project with RM46L852CPGET the microcontroller peripherals used were only I2C, UART (RS232 and RS485), ADC, MibSPI, GPIO, and PWM.

Our program takes < 200k in flash and has allocation in RAM  for < 4K, so we expect to have no problems in downgrading from RM46L852CPGET to RM44L520APGET fron this point of view.

The pinouts of the two devices have some differences but only due to more alternative functions in RM46L852CPGET. The max clock speed of RM44L520APGET is only sligthly less than RM46L852CPGET.

The electrical specification of the common peripherals of the two microcontrollers semm the same.

I have two questions, one general and one more specific:

- if it's expected that we find any problems in porting the firmware relevant to used peripherals (our hardware abstraction layer) from RM46L852CPGET to RM44L520APGET;

- if is it true that we can power ADC with 5 volts while VCCIO power for the microcontroller is 3.3 Volt (and so, choose an ADC reference > 3.3 Volt and < 5 Volt)

Thanks and best regards
