MSP432-DEBUGGERS: Fate of MSP432P4111IPZ

We were informed that the MSP432P4111IPZ was obsolete when we went to order 1000 PCB for our new product. We were forced to go to broker.

TI has a reputation for never obsoleting a product which is why we used primarily TI parts. This one was designed in to a new product for us.

Is it possible to get them?

There doesn't seem to be a replacement offered and the existing MSP432 family of parts do not have the low power capability we were counting on.

Will TI be obsoleting other parts?

Is there a low power ARM product coming to replace the low power version of the 432?

The available MSP 430s do not have enough Flash, RAM and UARTs to meet our needs.

Hi Paul,

Unfortunately MSP432P is EOL.

You may consider TM4C123 which is an Arm M4F-based MCU that has 256k flash and 64k SRAM with a rich set of peripherals. The amount of flash and SRAM is comparable to MSP432P and runs up to 80Mhz. TM4C123 will be around for quite a long while. Please find below production selection.

TI has a new offering of MCUs based on Arm M0+ with up to 128k flash and 32k SRAM. These MCUs are targeted for low power applications. Please find more information at:

Hi Charles,

I need lower power than TM4C123 and I need more memory and ports than the ARM CORTEX M0+ offering. Is there a roadmap towards larger versions?

Is there an MSP430 that has 4 UARTs +3 SPI and 1 I2C? What is the roadmap for the MSP430?

Will TI be obsoleting other parts? How do I get on the list for notification?

Hi Paul,

I use the MSP430 product selection page from https://www.ti.com/microcontrollers-mcus-processors/msp430-microcontrollers/products.html and save all parts in the spreadsheet. I use the filters to filter out parts. There are quite a few that meet your requirements with 256k flash 32k SRAM and 4 UARTs +3 SPI and 1 I2C. However, they are running a bit slower than MSP432P. I need to inform you that I do not support MSP430 products. For questions as far as availability, longevity, performance and power, please open a new ticket specifying the part number that you are most interested in. Your ticket will be automatically routed to the MSP430 experts where they can assist your questions.

Have you had a chance to create a new thread for MSP430 specific questions? I gave you a list of potential MSP430 alternatives. Please understand that I do not support MSP430 and can't really answer about MSP430 roadmap, availability, longevity or performance and power. This is why I suggest you open a new thread for any specific MSP430 part number that you are interested with.
